How to Know if you Need Attachment and Trauma Therapy in San Francisco
Maybe you've spent so long trying to feel loved, chosen, and enough that you've lost touch with your own needs, your own voice, and the person you were always meant to be.
Does this sound familiar?
You soften or shrink yourself to please others, be “the chill girl” or to avoid conflict
You feel like you’re “too much” and “not enough” all at the same time
You have a gut feeling about something, but you’re quick to convince yourself you’re wrong if others push back.
You feel lonely despite having friends and family around you
You feel insecure in your relationships, especially romantic ones, compare yourself to others, and don't know what you bring to the table.
You feel like you should be able to handle this. So you keep pushing through, but you feel like you're about to fall apart.
And underneath it all…
You just want to be chosen for who you are.
There is nothing wrong with who you are. These patterns once helped you stay connected, safe, and accepted, but they no longer have to define your life. Healing is possible. Attachment based therapy can help you understand where these patterns came from and reconnect with who you are beneath them.
Meet Your San Francisco Attachment & Trauma Therapist
Overthinking, losing yourself in relationships, and constantly wondering if you’re enough is an overwhelming place to be.
I’m so glad you’re here.
I'm Alexis Warrington, LMFT, CCTP-II, an SF therapist specializing in childhood trauma, attachment, and difficult relationship patterns. I help women understand themselves, heal the wounds beneath their struggles, and reconnect with the parts of themselves they've had to set aside.
This work is personal for me. I didn’t just learn about attachment wounding and relationship anxiety from books. I know what it feels like to question your worth and wonder if you are enough. And I know how difficult it can be to change the patterns that have protected you for so long.
That understanding fuels the compassionate, nonjudgmental space I strive to create for every client. As I walk alongside you on this journey, you will feel seen, supported, and safe enough to reclaim the authentic parts of you.
Healing At the Root
I believe lasting change happens when we heal the root of our patterns, not just the symptoms. My evidence-based, mind-body approach helps you move beyond intellectual insight to create change you can actually feel.
Attachment based therapy helps you understand yourself.
Somatic therapy helps you connect your body and mind, and find safety within.
Parts work (ego state therapy, reparenting, inner child healing) allows you to accept yourself.
Compassionate, trauma-informed care helps you heal trauma and attachment wounds to feel safe and empowered in your present.

You don't have to have experienced a single, obvious traumatic event to benefit from trauma and attachment-focused therapy. Trauma and attachment therapy can help if you want to create a deeper sense of security and self-trust. You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or have everything figured out before starting. We can explore that together.

I am an out-of-network provider and currently offer private-pay services. I can provide you with a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network benefits, deductible, and reimbursement rate.
